The Nutone VX550 central vacuum power unit is manufactured for slightly larger homes, up to 8,000 square feet. The VX550 has a 2-stage motor with 550 air watts. Noise from this unit is reduced due to internal sound suppression. The huge 8 gallon gallon bags are changed quickly thanks to an easily accessible door. A self closing collar on the disposable filter bags reduces your exposure to dust when it is time to replace the bag. We had our first unit for one year and it broke. Nu-tone sent us a new one and a year later that is broken. Waiting to hear back from customer service. This model is poorly made.

Very nice unit. Bought unit for parents to replace their 35 year old Nutone Model 350. Easy to install with Change Out/Finish Kit.
