The design is clearly a "one size fits all" for various installations. The kitchen toe kick installation would be much easier if the unit were re-designed with airflow straight to the rear. The current design with integral 90 degree elbow makes it impossible to simply slide into place in the toekick using flexible pipe.

Quickly kick it open sweep the stuff in!It is slightly more difficult to install than an inlet valve.

I installed the vac-pan below a central vac outlet. It works perfectly, and there were plenty of elbows, etc. in the kit I bought with it. The only recommendation I have is that in the instructions it says to leave 1/2 inch of slack in the pipe length to be able to make the last connection and NOT GLUE the vac-pan to the pipe. The suction is so strong in the system it causes the vac pan to rise up immediately after it is turned off by the connection compressing. I solved this by running a heavy bead of pvc cement around the top of the last coupling and letting it dry completely before testing it. It works perfectly!
