At first you may think that it is less powerful than you had expected - I think some people expect a miracle. It "seems" less powerful than my 5HP shop vac.. However, I believe it to be a little stronger. Once you realize how to use it well, it sucks up more than you will ever imagine. I figured that a TurboCat wouldn't work very well on my high-pile carpets.. I was wrong, it works quite well!
I cannot imagine that anyone would need a "more powerful" 240Volt unit. Figure this - it may have more power, but you will need to pay to have a 240V outlet installed (unless you already have one). Not to mention the 240V units cost more.
The unit is much easier to install than imagined!
Bottom line: Buy it. I don't know really who Imperium is.. but it is the same motor, and same design other makers are using. And the unit says "Vacumaid" on the label. (However, this model's specs are better than those of most Vacumaid products..)
My parents are messy (I'm in my 20's), they are very messy - behind furniture where a vacuum hasn't touched in 17years (literally!) the dust/filth is eliminated almost by the hand of GOD! (And I'm not religious!)
