Q: What is the VACVENT™ product?
A: VACVENT™ products provide a simple way to install central vacuum cleaning systems in your home or business. With VACVENT™ products, however, modifications to the walls of your home are no longer required. VACVENT™ products take advantage of your existing HVAC registers, minimizing the installation complexity. The central vacuum cleaning system and pipes/fittings are sold separately.

Q: How does a VACVENT™ product operate?
A: VACVENT™ products are designed to be easy to operate. With the VACVENT™ Sweep Inlet, simply raise the inlet and the central vacuum unit will turn on automatically, providing a powerful suction that removes swept dirt and debris from your home. When you are finished, simply lower the inlet and the central vacuum unit will automatically turn off! It´s easy!

Q: Will VACVENT™ products work with any central vacuum cleaning system?
A: VACVENT™ products are designed to work with any central vacuum cleaning system that uses standard 2” piping and low voltage wiring for turning the unit on or off. Most central vacuum systems use these standard components, but be sure to consult with the user manual and follow all safety and installation instructions that come with your central vacuum system.

Q: How many VACVENT™ products can I install and where?
A: VACVENT™ Sweep Inlets are perfect for any room where sweeping is required -- kitchens, bathrooms, workshops, hardwood floors, tile, even barber shops and restaurants! Simply locate your existing floor registers and select where you would like to have a VACVENT™ inlet. There is no limit to how many you can install other than the size of your main central vacuum unit. Most central vacuum units are rated based on the square footage of your home. Consult the instructions that came with your central vacuum unit for more information.

Q: Can VACVENT™ products be installed without professional help?
A: YES! VACVENT™ products are designed to be easy to install by the average do-it-yourselfer. Just replace your existing floor register with a VACVENT™ product, insert PVC piping into the HVAC ductwork under the register, and connect the PVC piping back to your central vacuum cleaning system. A simple low voltage connection provides the ability to turn the central vacuum system on or off when the VACVENT™ product is in use. Be sure to follow the safety and installation instructions that came with your central vacuum cleaning system.

Q: What tools are required to install a VACVENT™ product?
A: VACVENT™ products are designed to be easy to install. In most cases, all you will require is a razor blade and duct tape to install a VACVENT™ product. If inserting the PVC piping through an aluminum register boot, a 2-3/8” hole saw attached to a drill is recommended. Installation of the piping/fittings requires PVC cement and a saw to cut the lengths. Installation of the central vacuum main unit requires a power outlet nearby, and a drill to install brackets to mount the unit in a sturdy location. Be sure to consult with the user manual and follow all safety and installation instructions that come with your central vacuum system.
