Central vacuum hoses are available in Standard, Turbo, Electric Pigtail, Electric Direct Connect, and Electric Convertible.

A standard hose is the most basic, it provides suction only. Plugging in your standard hose turns the vacuum on and it is ready to use.

A turbo hose is equipped with an on/off switch in the handle. Once your vacuum is plugged in, you have a switch you can use. The switch means you will no longer need to  walk over to the wall and unplug the vacuum hose when the phone rings.

An electric pigtail hose is designed to be used with standard inlets and an electric powerhead. There is a pigtail electrical cord at the end of the hose to plug into the nearest electrical outlet to power the powerhead. Most electric hoses have a three way switch. One position for the vacuum unit to be one, one position for off, and one position for the powerhead and the vacuum unit to be on.

 An electric direct connect hose is designed to be used with electric inlets and an electric powerhead. There is a two prong electrical connection at the end of the hose to power the powerhead. Most electric hoses have a three way switch. One position for the vacuum unit to be one, one position for off, and one position for the powerhead and the vacuum unit to be on.

 An electric convertible hose is designed to be used with either electric inlets or standard inlets. A convertible hose comes standard as a  pigtail hose but easy to follow instructions are provided which explain how to change the hose end to direct connect. This is the best type of hose to purchase if you are not 100% sure what type of inlets you have. Most electric hoses have a three way switch. One position for the vacuum unit to be one, one position for off, and one position for the powerhead and the vacuum unit to be on.

The on/off switch makes the old system more convenient than ever. Also, the added length comes in handy for cleaning high, low, and remote corners.

This replacement hose is all I hoped it would be. Love the on/off feature on the handle. Finally, I am able to reach all the far-away corners. The 42' is surprisingly easy to coil and store. Central Vac. stores had a good price and made the purchase easy. I will be using them for any additional vac purchases.

Shipping is Free for orders over $60.00 to all 50 states with some exceptions; orders under $60.00 there is a $8.95 shipping and handling fee. We usually ship all orders by UPS ground shipping, but also use USPS (United States Postal Service) and drop shipping as well. Expedited Shipping is also available.
