Nutone (now called Broan-NuTone)

Nutone was founded in the 1930's as a door chime company. Over the years the Nutone product line expanded to included central vacuum systems, intercoms, home ventilation products, and more. In 1967 with 14 plants in the U.S. and Canada, Nutone was sold to Scovill. In 1998 they were absorbed by Broan, and in 2000 Nortek became the parent company. The company is headquartered in Hartford, Wisconsin with plant and warehouse locations in Ohio, Texas, Illinois, California, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, China, and Mexico. Today the name is Broan-Nutone, but the products are the same products customers have come to expect from Nutone. Broan-Nutone's product mix focuses primarily on home ventilation products and built-in home convenience products, that include central vacuum systems.

Nutone central vacuum systems gained a reputation in the industry because of their popularity with home builders. For decades they installed the traditional all metal, cylinidrical power units in homes across the country. Today, Nutone has redesigned their central vacuum system with a sleeker look and a smaller foot print. In addition to the new Nutone VX series, they also manufacturer a compact unit for smaller homes. To support their central vacuum product line, Nutone offers a complete line of central vacuum attachments and accessories.
