The Eureka Company

Eureka was founded by Fred Wardell in 1909. He had an idea that Eureka would be known for their innovative products so he decided to name the company after the Greek Word for "I found it", Eureka. History tells us the Greek physicist Archimedes made the phrase famous when he took a dip in his tub, discovered the theory of water displacement, and shouted "Eureka!"  Eureka is an environmentally conscious company. They claim to be constantly shouting "I found it" as they discover new and better products. Eureka is committed to continued development of vacuums to meet the changing demands of their customers. Eureka is now manufactured by Electrolux, another well known name in the floor care industry. They produce and distribute more than 130 models under four different names; Eureka, Electrolux, Sanitaire, and Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems (formerly known as Beam).
