This system has been very reliable for us, considering the abuse a family of 13 can put on a system of 10 units plus a doorbell. Had it about 3 years now. Installed it myself, simple Cat-5 wiring, daisy-chain and/or star - just hook the wires together. Each unit has its own computer, so no central station to go down. Compared with other systems I have dealt with I am very impressed.

Downsides: 1) Numbers are wearing off from constant use 2) The "new" volume controls (two buttons) are definitely worse than the old slide switch . . . gives off an irritating tone to tell you the volume, but NOT what you want when you want to kill the sound quick. 3) Some balance issues, perhaps because of our heavy load (we did install a second power supply) . . . the "house blast" button (activate all stations) does a loud, unbearable chatter on 1-2 stations (which they did not do when there were less stations. 4) The coding, especially on systems over 8 stations (2 number codes), is not intuitive . . . but also not hard to learn . . . even our little kids do it.

Overall, excellent product. Which is why I took the time to submit this :-)

Installed ours in every bedroom, kitchen, back patio, garage, and basement. We've been using it for 2.5 years now to eavsdrop on the kids and as a baby monitor. When we bought ours, it was the only system capable of monitoring to and from any station (no required home/base station)
I configured mine in a star patern from the kitchen, with 2 stations in series on each branch. Works great, no interference. And when I was researching these, this was the only one with the flexibility to do monitor any station from any station.
I did have a tough time installing the group of wires for each branch into my central kitchen station (almost had too many wires to fit in the small hole)Other than that it was an easy install.
