The dmc1RS 5" Remote Scan Intercom Room Station - White

The M&S dmc1RS intercom Indoor Room Station with Remote Scan and Master Volume is an indoor room speaker designed to be used with the dmc1 Master Station only.  The dmc1 intercom system with the dmc1RS room speakers is for use in new construction and to upgrade your existing unit.  This indoor M&S intercom speaker is for use in new construction with Cat5 wiring or for upgrading 6-wire intercom systems.

If this dmc1RS intercom room speaker is used in new construction, the M&S required rough-in frame is the dmc1HR.  When the dmc1RS intercom system is installed in an existing home without a prior intercom, the M&S dmc1HRW frame is recommended.  The dmc1HR frame can be difficult to install in an existing wall, while the dmc1HRW is installed with ease.  For the room station retrofit frame, order the M&S dmcFR Room Station Retrofit Mounting Frame recommended for openings up to 7-1/2" x 10".   If the existing opening in your wall is larger, you can take a look at the custom CentralVacuumStores.com exclusive 8" update frames.

FUNCTIONS OF THE M&S dmc1RS

• The M&S dmc1RS high-end features include volume control, door talk, room talk, door release, audio source control, master station remote volume control and radio station scan.
• The dmc1 intercom music source can be selected from any dmc1RS speaker by pressing the volume up and volume down at the same time.  Note: If you press and hold these buttons for 4 seconds or more, you initiate the Security/Home Automation function. (See Intercom Operation/Security/Home Automation for details.) This function is not available on the Patio Station.
• The door release function is used by pressing the music and volume buttons at the same time and holding for four seconds.  If you do not have a door release or gate, but you do have a security system, this can be tied into the unit to offer a panic alarm instead. 
• Music sources can be turned on or off from any dmc1RS room station by pressing the music volume up to turn the source on, and music volume down to turn the source off.
• To use the radio station scan press the music and volume buttons at the same time.  When these buttons are pressed the master station will start scanning the preset stations and various audio sources, like the built in ip connection offered on the dmc1-ip.
• Activate door talk by holding the door talk button down, while speaking, and holding the listen button down while the person at the door responds.
• For room talk hold the room talk button down while speaking, and hold the listen button down while the person from the other room responds.
• The turn of a dial allows you to control volume in individual rooms. Other special functions can also be activated using this dial.  The System Music Volume is adjusted pressing the music volume up or music volume down.

M&S DMC1 INTERCOM OVERVIEW

M&S DMC1 Master Intercom Stations

The M&S dmc1 Music/Communication System Master is a music and intercom system for home use. The dmc1 is ideal for both new construction and upgrading 6-wire intercom systems. This unit will call throughout the home and patio with an optional door chime and front door speaker so you can answer the door from any room in your home. This intercom master station is designed to allow up to 15 room stations and 3 door speakers. 

With the dmc1 master intercom station for new construction, the room and patio stations connect to the master unit using standard Cat-5 cable. The dmc1R and the dmc1RS style room stations can select talk or listen to other room stations, door speakers and the master unit. These stations also have volume control built-in.  The M&S dmc1 intercom offers a privacy function that can be activated at each speasker.  This functions keeps rooms from being monitored if privacy is a concern. The M&S dmc1RS room stations and dmc1RW patio stations have additional functions from the dmc1R.  These intercom stations can select the audio source, control the radio tuner, and set the master music volume.

If you have a front door or gate that you would like to have remote door release, the DRW Door Release Mechanism.  This can be used from the master station or any room speaker. The dmc1 offers two different optional door chimes, a three-note Model MC3 or eight-note Model MC8.

ADDING MUSIC TO THE dmc1

With eight presets for both AM/FM radio built in and 2 separate audio inputs, the M&S dmc1 is a great option for music distribution. With the LCD backlight display you can easily view all intercom controls.

When purchasing a M&S dmc1 master station intercom, there is an optional 6-disc CD changer, the dmc1CD. This CD changer is installed directly below the master station. The disc number and standard CD functions are all displayed on the master station LCD display.

The dmc1 can be purchased to include an external built-in Mp3 connection. This installed connection will allow you to play all the playlists you have stored on your Ipod or mp3 player through your dmc1 intercom system.

FINISH OUT AND UPDATE FRAMES

For all retrofit indoor room stations use a Model dmcFR Room Station Retrofit Mounting Frame. The dmcFR style frames are 7-1/2" x 10". If your speakers are larger than this, take a look at the CentralVacuumStores.com exclusive retrofit frames for 8" speakers.
