Which Central Vacuum Unit is Right for You?

Find by Brand - Sometimes our Customers knows exactly what brand of Central Vacuum they want so we have included this option so you can shop by the specific brand you're looking for.

Bagged Units - These units are designed with bags located inside the dirt canister where the dirt is deposited after being removed from your home.  Bagged Units include such brands as AstroVac, and Imperium and are an excellent choice for homes that cannot be vented or if venting is not desired. Although venting is not required, we still recommend it to reduce noise and odor. As the bag fills with debris the unit will begin losing suction. Keep in mind that although central vacuum systems are a dust free way to clean, we recommend a unit with a throw away bag if the person responsible for emptying the dirt canister has dust allergies or breathing difficulties.

Filtered Units - These units use either inverted filters or filter cartridges that capture the dirt and debris collected in the dirt canister. Filtered Units include brands such as Imperium and RhinoVac. Filtered Units are an excellent choice for homes that cannot be vented or if venting is not desired. Although venting is not required, we still recommend it to reduce noise and odor.

Cyclonic Units (bagless) - Cyclonic Units such as Imperium, Vacu-Maid, and Vacuflo offer powerful cleaning ability without constraints such as bags or filters. These systems have been around for over 50 years and are designed with high performance motors that are unique with specially designed motor fans. The dirt and debris are collected in the dirt canister; the remaining small particles are vented outside. The debris emitted outside is extremely light. Imperium and Vacu-Maid offer the option of canister liners to allow you to empty the canister like a bagged unit. The power of cyclonic units is required for certain central vacuum installation options such as retractable central vacuum hoses.

Compact Units - Compact Central Vacuum Units are small central vacuum systems designed for cleaning a limited amount of space. These types of units include units specifically designed for places like boats, mobile homes and RV's, and units that are pipe-free.

Wet/Dry Units - These Wet/Dry Central Vacuum systems allow you to pick up both dirt and water. It's perfect for businesses like restaurants, veterinary clinics, health clinics, apartments, hotels, and auto shops. Or maybe you're a home owner that wants your vacuum to be capable of tasks like; cleaning up liquid spills, hard floor cleaning, carpet cleaning, and upholstery cleaning.
