Imperium CV300 Central Vacuum  Power Unit

Power Unit has 10 Year Motor Warranty - 725 AirWatts of Power - Made in the USA

Expert's Choice for Value and Performance

The Imperium CV300 central vacuum power unit has been chosen by the experts at Central Vacuum Stores as  one of the very best values in paper bagged central vacuum units on the market. Look around, compare the specs, and compare the price. It's going to be really hard to find anything to beat the Imperium CV300 in price and power.

Craig Handelsman, the General Manager at Central Vacuum Stores, chose the Imperium CV300 for his home.  He replaced an older, messy unit. "I couldn't be happier! This unit is unbelievably quiet, has incredible suction, and uses nice large bags. The bags last me 6 to 8 months each and it takes me about 1 minute to change my bag. My wife and I are very allergic to dust, so this has been a huge improvement over our prior unit."

CV300 Galvannealed Steel

The Imperium CV300 is an all steel central vacuum power unit made of galvannealed steel.  Galvannealed steel is made by combining the process of galvanization and annealing.  This process produces a very fine matte finish that acts like a primer, easily adheres to paint, and is very rust proof.  With a superior powder coated finish, this is a unit that will resist rust and corrosion for years and years.

The powerful, flo-thru motor is manufactured by Ametek-Lamb, the folks that have been putting motors in the very best central vacuum systems for years. No central vacuum system on the market today can give you this kind of performance and value for your money.

holster vac

HolsterVac, a brand new innovation in central vacuum cleaning convenience, is ideal for workbenches or work areas. We call it Suction on Demand for woodworking shops, hair salons, grooming stations, podiatrist and veterinarian offices. A stretch central vacuum hose rests in the HolsterVac, always within easy reach. Just remove it from the holster and your vacuum system automatically turns on. When you've finished your cleanup just put the hose back in the holster and your central vacuum automatically shuts off.

hand held

This Imperium hand-held powerhead is the perfect tool to clean stairs, upholstery and inside the car. Instead of just the straight suction of normal central vacuum tools, this has a revolving brush powered by the air of your central vacuum system so that it's cleaning ability far exceeds that of normal tools. It's especially good if you have pets and need to remove pet hair from your upholstery.

garage kits

Many central vacuum customers choose to own a separate tool kit stored in the garage with the power unit to be used specifically for those out of home tasks like cleaning out the garage, the cars, the patio, etc. Various sets are available ranging from very inexpensive upwards depending on what tools you need. Check out Central Vacuum garage kits here.

hose sock

Want to protect your walls and furniture from the central vacuum hose? Maybe you want to consider the purchase of a "hose sock" which is made of soft material and covers the hose. This protects your walls and furniture from any damage by the hose itself.

Components of a Central Vacuum System

The Central Vacuum Power Unit: : The central vacuum motor and dirt canister are contained as one unit that is separated for emptying of the paper bag within the dirt canister portion of the unit. This unit can be stored in the garage or other location away from your central living area. These units have a Lamb Ametek motor, the best central vacuum motor in the industry today.

 power unit

Central Vacuum Inlets: Depending on the size of your home and the length hose you choose, these inlets will be installed in your walls at various locations. When the end of the hose is inserted to the inlet, the power unit automatically turns on so you can start vacuuming immediately. Inlets come in a variety of attractive styles to go with the decor of your home like polished brass, etc. We have information on our website to help you plan the number of inlets you need for your home. Check out this article.

Vacu-Maid Inlet

Central Vacuum Piping: Piping can be either standard central vacuum piping or schedule 40 plumbers piping along with special adaptors we sell. Using Schedule 40 piping allows you to purchase the piping for the job at your local hardware store. You can check out our DIY Knowledgebase article that discuss the considerations of which type of piping you choose.

Vacu-Maid Piping

Central Vacuum Sweep Inlets: You can choose to install a special type of inlet in your home that can be used for sweeping dirt directly into the system. These sweep inlets located floor level at the base of a cabinet or wall are great for when you want to do quick cleanups in a highly trafficked area like a kitchen without pulling out the hose and attachments. You can just activate the central vacuum system when you open the inlet to push dirt into it.

Vacu-Maid Sweep Inlets

Central Vacuum Attachments: Choosing the right attachments for your central vacuum system is probably one of the most important things you'll do in the process of selecting your system. There are lots of options these days and your choice depends on your needs. In addition to the hose, tools and powerhead that comes with your attachments, be sure to consider things like; do I want a garage tool kit too? Do I need tools for grooming my pet? Do I want a hand held revolving brush powerhead for cleaning stairs and the cars? Do I want the Holster Vac for cleaning the work bench area? The options are endless so look at what's available under Central Vacuum accessories or give us a call and let us help you choose the right kit for your needs.

Overall very satisfied with the CV300. Compared to the Beam unit we had in our old house this one is considerably quieter(even without a muffler) and easily has 1/3rd greater suction power. Looks to be a very high quality unit and it's nice that it's made in the USA.

Got this vacuum upon Roger's recommendation a couple of months ago. Replaced our old central vac that broke with this new unit. We were skeptical about the bags but it is so much cleaner and enjoying improved air quality in the house. My husband installed it in less than one day and if he can do it anybody can. The power is great and a pleasure to clean with. [...] Thanks for the great advice and service.

The support and knowledge from the staff goes above and beyond. I spent 20 minutes on the phone discussing the features and benefits of the vacuums as well as problems with my existing system. They walked me through the problems and resolved every issue over the phone. Great Company!

CV300 -- Deceptively small and powerful

By JS Verified Reviewer from Northwest U.S. on 07/23/2009

Pros: simple, strong suction, surprisingly quiet
Cons: should add a lid latch
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I had ordered a Nutone 550VX as a gift for my 80+ year old parents who have had Nutone central vacuums all their lives. But the Nutone 550 had a compatibility problem with "popping" Square-D breakers. So first, let me say that Centralvacuumstores.com went "above and beyond" in replacing the defective Nutone unit - first with another Nutone from the factory, and then with this CV300 unit.

When my parents first saw the CV300, they didn't want to let me install it. "It's too small." "It can't have as much sound insulation." "It can't be as good" "The bag should be on the bottom." ...was all I heard.

Dejected, I took it home to repackage it and send it back. But before doing so, I decided to plug it in and see for myself. Smart decision!!

Let's face it. I'm an engineer, so I can see how these things are built, and they're not that complicated (although some manufacturers try to make it look so). The CV300 has a metal case, which makes it a LOT quieter than any plastic-cased central vacuum unit. They put the bag on top for easier access(which TOTALLY confused my parents), but the inlet air still comes in the top of the bag and is "sucked out" the same way as bottom-bagged units. And by simplifying the design this way, it's 2/3's the size of most competitive units.

Armed with what I found out, I went back to my parents and said "Just let me install it -- THEN if you don't like it, I'll replace it with any unit of your choosing." They were as amazed as I was at the power, quietness and accessibility of this unit. After a month of use, they absolutely LOVE it!

So don't let the size, or not-so-pretty shape, fool you. The CV300 is a great central vacuum unit... even for your 80-year old parents who are very set in their ways :-).

WOW you will love this vacuum. The suction is really powerful. I have had so much trouble for the last 3 years with my Silent Master from MD with not having enough suction to pull the dirt from the 3rd floor, up through the attic and down 2 more floors. The house is only 3000sqft, however the pipes in the walls zig zag through the walls and floors, using over 150 feet of pipe to get to the 3rd floor. Not a problem for this vacuum the suction is amazing and I am so very happy with the unit! They are great call them they will help you as well!

Great but needs new mounting hardware

I love the unit. It's powerful, quiet, well made, and just the right size for me. But - the lag screws supplied to mount the unit will not work. They are too long to fit between the bracket and the main drum so I had to make a trip to the hardware store for some hanger bolts. Disappointing.

My neighbors laughed when the saw my new central vac, but now they want one for themselves!

Everyone who I showed the Imperium CV300 Power Unit to, thought that it was too small to do much good. I invited them to use the Imperium 98450 Premium Garage Attachment Set that I bought with the vac and now they want to use it all the time to vacuum out their cars! They couldn't believe there could be so much suction for such a small and Quite unit. The Imperium 93421 Pro Elite 14 Attachment Set Direct Connect works equally as well. My wife, who is know by all our family as the Vacuum Queen, thinks it's great! She loves how light it is and how much power it has. We are both very happy with this unit. It works better than what our expectations were

Cons: tricky to install, poor instructions, some intall problem

1 month of use and so far this has been great. Replaces an old upright vacuum, so of course the improvement in power and reduction in noise with this has been dramatic. This unit is actually quieter than my old upright, which surprised me. Makes it much easier to clean the house. The only knock I have on this is that the instructions are basically non-existent. The mounting bracket for this already comes attached to the vacuum and it's not immediately obvious how to remove it for installation. All I can say is that if you have any installation questions, don't be shy. Call the fine folks at Central Vacuum Stores. They were very helpful in answering my questions and made installation a breeze.

Imperium CV300 Power Unit, very powerful and quiet

By David C Verified Reviewer from Orlando, FL on 02/21/2012

Pros: Easy to Install
Cons: no negatives
Best Uses: powerful
Describe Yourself: Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

We installed this unit to replace a 38 year old VSI Filtex dual motor unit. For our 2000 sqft home with 4 inlets in the house and the utility inlet provided, the CV300 is more power than we needed. To the point of requiring venting when using a floor brush from our original attachments in order to keep the brush from sticking to the floor! We might have been able to use a less powerful unit. The CV300 is smaller and far quieter than our old unit. It has been installed for a couple of weeks and we are very happy with our purchase. For the do-it-yourselfer I highly recommend you order at the same time a foot or two of vacuum PVC and a couple of 45 degree elbows so that you have everything on hand to get the unit connected. Vacuum PVC is 2 inch outside diameter and the PVC you find at the local hardware store is 2 inch inside diameter. My old unit had a male adapter and the CV300 has a female, also the utility inlet has female ends so at a minimum you are going to need a few inches of pipe to connect the utility inlet to the vacuum unit.
