AirVac AVR24000 Power Unit

The AVR24000 has 627 peak air watt capacity and can be installed in homes up to 12,000 square feet.  For installation flexibility, both the intake and exhaust ports can be connected from the left or right side.  A front-mounted utility port allows easy connection of a hose directly to the power unit for local cleaning.  The vacuum’s control panel has a power switch and power indicator.

The AirVac AVR24000's permanent fabric filter provides filtration down to .1 micron diameter.  The debris bucket on the bottom of the power unit and holds up to 6 gallons of dust and dirt.  Two easy-to-access swing-down latches secure the debris bucket and are used to remove the debris bucket for emptying.

A foam-filled muffler is included for installation in the exhaust system piping of the AVR24000.  The muffler substantially reduces operating noise.  Routing the vacuum’s exhaust through piping to outside the residence assures all remaining dust vents outside of the building. holster vac

HolsterVac, a brand new innovation in central vacuum cleaning convenience, is ideal for workbenches or work areas. We call it Suction on Demand for woodworking shops, hair salons, grooming stations, podiatrist and veterinarian offices. A stretch central vacuum hose rests in the HolsterVac, always within easy reach. Just remove it from the holster and your vacuum system automatically turns on. When you've finished your cleanup just put the hose back in the holster and your central vacuum automatically shuts off.

This Imperium hand-held powerhead is the perfect tool to clean stairs, upholstery and inside the car. Instead of just the straight suction of normal central vacuum tools, this has a revolving brush powered by the air of your central vacuum system so that it's cleaning ability far exceeds that of normal tools. It's especially good if you have pets and need to remove pet hair from your upholstery.

Many central vacuum customers choose to own a separate tool kit stored in the garage with the power unit to be used specifically for those out of home tasks like cleaning out the garage, the cars, the patio, etc. Various sets are available ranging from very inexpensive upwards depending on what tools you need. Check out Central Vacuum garage kits here.

Components of a Central Vacuum System

The central vacuum motor and debris bucket are contained as one unit that is separated for emptying of the debris bucket portion of the unit. This unit has a permanent filter for maximum filtration. This unit can be stored in the garage or other location away from your central living area. A foam-filled muffler is included for installation in the exhaust system piping.

Central Vacuum Inlets: Depending on the size of your home and the length hose you choose, these inlets will be installed in your walls at various locations. When the end of the hose is inserted to the inlet, the power unit automatically turns on so you can start vacuuming immediately. Inlets come in a variety of attractive styles to go with the decor of your home like polished brass, etc. We have information on our website to help you plan the number of inlets you need for your home. Check out this article.

Central Vacuum Sweep Inlets: You can choose to install a special type of inlet in your home that can be used for sweeping dirt directly into the system. You can just activate the central vacuum system when you open the inlet to push dirt into it.

This is the one to buy!

By Old Goat Verified Reviewer from Francestown, NH on 03/10/2009

Pros: Easy To Clean, Powerful, easy to install, low price
Cons: outside vent only
Best Uses: General Upkeep, Heavily Used Areas
Describe Yourself: Meticulous Cleaner
I Am A: family young kids
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This is a 240 volt unit which makes it a bit less convenient to hook up electrically. However, it's worth it. A 120 volt unit can't draw as much power without popping breakers. This one is so powerful, you have to make sure you don't suck up your pet cat :-) And...it costs less than the competition!!!

Fantastic vacuum with pleanty of suction

By otis Verified Reviewer from Urbana, Illinois on 04/16/2011

Pros: Durable, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Well Designed
Describe Yourself: Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This vac. was a snap to install. With two cats and a 110lb dog there is always pleanty of hair for this vac. to suck up. We have all hardwood floors and they look great after vacuuming. This vac. has the power and the flow required for any job I could imagine. Installed in January 2011, and no issues. When it comes down to it, there is no need for a fancy machine. Suction power and flow is what is important. This machine has both. I have this mounted in the basement, non-finished, and have not yet connected the exhaust to the exterior of the house but plan to do so.
