I used the motor/blower as a replacement for the 37-year-old original in my Vacuflo 26 power unit. Disassembly was very easy, requiring only a screwdriver and wire cutters -- the old blower lifted right out.With a bit of care I was able to transfer the rubber feet from the old blower to the new one -- the holes in the castings were exactly the same size. A drop of oil helped with installing the feet in the new casting. The rubber gasket at the top of the motor (which is easy to forget) fit the new motor perfectly as well.The existing gasket in the power unit fit the new motor perfectly. I had to be careful about reconnecting the wires, since the old ones were so dirty it was hard to distinguish their colors. Having the blower off was an ideal time to properly clean the top screen in the power unit, since you normally can only clean it from below.Everything else went back together as easily as it came apart. The new motor/blower is noticeably quieter than the old one. The suction is a bit better, too, but that is probably due to cleaning out the top screen of the power unit so thoroughly.Bottom line: a very simply job for the DIYer, and a lot cheaper than either a professional repair or a new power unit!
