The Broan HRV100H is a residential balanced ventilation system that introduces fresh and includes Heat Recovery(HRV).

How heat recovery systems work:

Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV) reclaim energy froom exhausted stale air to temper incoming fresh air - heat is retained during warmer seasons. These sytems capture about 70 percent of the energy already expended to temper incoming air. Broan HRV systems are designed to be ducted , whole-house solutions. They will meet ventilation needs based on square footage of the structure and maintain recommended air changes per hour.

As incoming air enters the unit it is tempered as it passes though the heat exchanger. Tempered fresh air may be directed to the HVAC air handler, or ducted directly to rooms in the home.

The sealed heat exchanger does not mix fresh air with stale indoor air.

Stale indoor air is routed through the heat exchanger to recover energy before being exhausted to the outside.before being exhausted to the outside. The stale indoor air is exhausted to the outside.
